Hobro is a market town at the bottom of Mariager Fjord with 11,736 inhabitants (2014), located in Hobro Parish. The city belongs to Mariagerfjord municipality located in North Jutland. Hobro on hilly terrain with high hills in the city's north-as well as southern districts. It is located near the north-south highway E45 and is also a railway between Aalborg and Randers. About 2 kilometers west of the city lies Viking Fortress Fyrkat, a fortress with dating back to 980 AD

Hobro

Coming from the south, you will see the North Jutland region of vast forests and wide view of nature. Here we find the roots of the historical Denmark, the Middle Ages and Viking Age. Hobro is one of the historic towns in the area.

The city lies at the end of Mariager Fjord. The old center is in a tunnel that separates the lake North Inlet from Mariager Fjord.
