Visit Fredensborg

Fredensborg is a station town in North of the Capital Rigeon,  between Hillerød and Elsinore with 8,329 inhabitants (2010). Fredensborg Palace is located in the city, the castle was named. The town has a railway station, Fredensborg Station which is located in the city. Fredensborg has over time been visited by prominent politicians, royal persons and athletes including Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, and FC Barcelona's soccer team as it was to play against Arsenal FC in the UEFA Champions League.

Fredensborg Palace Fredensborg Castle is wonderfully located in Fredensborg, north of Copenhagen. The square castle with its grand dome was built in 1721, during the reign of Frederik IV, under the supervision of architect C. Krieger. Since then the castle has been rebuilt several times, by architects Eigtved, Jardin, Thura and Harsdorff. Fredensborg Castle is the place where Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik live during spring and autumn..

From urban Copenhagen - Elsinore and Hilleroed is a train connection. approx. 20 min.
