Odense, Denmark's third largest and Funen's largest city with 166,305 inhabitants (2010). Odense city lies at the Odense River, approx. 3 km south of Odense Fjord. Odense is a market town, and was until 2006 the county seat of Funen County and before the Odense County. Although Odense is home to the administration of South Denmark, the Odense city is by far the largest in the region. Moreover, Odense also home to Denmark's second largest hospital - after Rigshospitalet - Odense University Hospital (OUH). Odense is the capital municipality of Odense.
