Odense, Denmark's third largest and Funen's largest city with 166,305 inhabitants (2010). Odense city lies at the Odense River, approx. 3 km south of Odense Fjord. Odense is a market town, and was until 2006 the county seat of Funen County and before the Odense County. Although Odense is home to the administration of South Denmark, the Odense city is by far the largest in the region. Moreover, Odense also home to Denmark's second largest hospital - after Rigshospitalet - Odense University Hospital (OUH). Odense is the capital municipality of Odense.

Getting to Odense & Funen

Visit Odense By Flight
The city of Odense can be reached directly from Kastrup Airport (Copenhagen) by train. The journey takes 1 hour and 30 minutes.
It is also possible to reach Odense from Billund Airport (situated in the southern part of Jutland). You will then have to take a bus/train or rent a car.

Visit Odense By Train
Trains leave from the capital of Copenhagen to Odense at close intervals. The journey takes 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Many trains from Europe with destination Copenhagen stop in Odense as well.

Visit Odense By Car
