H. C. Andersen and intertainer Victor Borge DenmarkVictor Borge (1909 - 2000), the famous Danish-American entertainer and pianist, was also a big fan of  Hans Christian Andersen and appropriated Hans Christian Andersen, the very popular Danish song, "Denmark, my Native Land"("In Denmark I was born ") - where the starting word as we know, was also valid poem of Victor Borge himself.

Dear Hans Christian Andersen ...
You were close to my childhood in Denmark, you were near when I landed in New York in 1940. And now, in a heavenly Elysium, you probably listen to Mozart and Mendelssohn your friend play Bach, or perhaps you are telling your adventures in the great shape that you only speak. We mention your name with pride, as it stands forever chiseled in the stars.
In devotion,
Victor Borge - Another Dane

Charles Dickens published David Copperfield, featuring the obsequious Uriah Heep June 1847Hans Christian Andersen - Meetings with Charles Dickens
In June 1847, H. C. Andersen paid his first visit to England and enjoyed a triumphal social success during the summer. The Countess of Blessington invited him to her parties where intellectual and famous H. C. Andersen and Charles Dickens people could meet, and it was at one party that he met Charles Dickens for the first time. They shook hands and walked to the veranda which was of much joy to H. C. Andersen. He wrote in his diary, "We had come to the veranda, I was so happy to see and speak to England's now living writer, whom I love the most." Ten years later, H. C. Andersen visited England again, primarily to visit Charles Dickens. H. C. Andersen stayed at Charles Dickens' home for five weeks. Shortly after H. C. Andersen left, Charles Dickens published David Copperfield, featuring the obsequious Uriah Heep, who is said to have been modeled on H. C. Andersen.

Death
In the spring of 1872, Hans Christian Andersen fell out of bed and was severely hurt! H. C. Andersen and the ugly duckling Denmark Hans Christian Andersen never fully recovered, but he lived until August 4, 1875, dying of insidious causes in a house called Rolighed (literally: calmness), near Copenhagen, the home of  Hans Christian Andersen s close friends Moritz Melchior, a banker, and his wife. Shortly before his death, Hans Christian Andersen had consulted a composer about the music for his funeral, saying: "Most of the people who will walk after me will be children, so make the beat keep time with little steps." Hans Christian Andersen s body was interred in the Assistens Kirkegård in the Nørrebro area of Copenhagen. At the time of Hans Christian Andersen s death, he was an internationally renowned and treasured artist. Hans Christian Andersen received a stipend from the Danish Government as a "national treasure". Before his death, steps were already underway to erect the large statue in Hans Christian Andersen honor, which was completed and is prominently placed at the town hall square in Copenhagen.
