Karen Blixen Museum is housed in the author's birthplace Rungstedlund, which became her home when she was in 1931 returned to Denmark after 17 years as a farmer in Africa. Here she lived until her death in 1962, and here she wrote all her internationally renowned stories.
Since the Karen Blixen Museum first opened its doors in 1991, nearly 1,000,000 people visited the site. Besides the private home museum offers documentary exhibition about Karen Blixen's life and work, gallery of Karen Blixen's drawings and paintings, films and special exhibitions and events.
